Odontogenic keratocyst (OKC) is a lesion that differs from other cysts affecting the oral cavity due to its histological variations and higher rate of clinical aggressiveness. Therefore, a better understanding by dentists regarding this lesion and the appropriate course of action for optimal treatment and patient prognosis is necessary. This study aims to demonstrate how to correctly diagnose the lesion by observing the histopathological details of lesions that may resemble odontogenic keratocyst (OKC), reviewing current clinical findings in the literature, and highlighting its particular characteristics to contribute to the advancement of the study of this lesion.
