The Brazilian National Common Curriculum Base (BNCC) emphasizes the importance of assessment as a crucial element in the educational process, providing essential information to guide teaching and learning. In the municipality of Uberaba, at our school, the construction of a diagnostic assessment addressing 8 to 10 skills worked on in the previous year is strongly recommended at the beginning of each school year, with the aim of guiding the review of content that was not consolidated. However, as highlighted by the BNCC, assessment should not be limited only to content review. One of the main objectives of the BNCC is to promote the full development of the student, offering a comprehensive education that encompasses aspects beyond academic knowledge, including social, emotional, and ethical dimensions. In this context, the quality and scope of assessments, as guiding elements of the teaching-learning process, are fundamental tools to prepare students for contemporary challenges.
