Brazil is a country rich in water resources, but it faces unfavorable water supply situations. It cannot meet demand and thus lacks investment and new technologies to make the system more efficient. This article uses a systematic integrative literature review methodology, using a total of nine articles related to the topic. It provides a framework that encompasses the technologies applicable to water supply systems with the aim of optimizing them for better water resource management. Based on the results obtained, it was possible to conclude that there are ways to improve water supply systems. The use of geographic information systems and automation processes are examples of alternatives for better managing these systems.
