This article presents a systemic psychotherapeutic intervention to treat anxiety, incorporating Domestic Companion Dogs (CAD) as a therapeutic resource. From a systemic perspective, the individual is understood within their family and social context, considering animals as part of the “interspecies family.” The proposal combines the strategic model, focused on problem-solving and pattern modification, with the narrative model, aimed at reconfiguring personal meanings. Furthermore, it highlights the effectiveness of animal-assisted therapies in reducing anxiety and improving emotional and family well-being. The intervention integrates traditional techniques with the support of CAD, promoting a holistic and innovative approach, while also paving the way for its legal and social recognition.
