Abstract

The advancement of automation and the growing use of intelligent algorithms have caused profound transformations in the contemporary labor market, affecting professions, labor relations, and qualification requirements. This study analyzes the historical evolution of automation, highlighting the transition from mechanical and industrial processes to digital systems capable of learning, making decisions, and performing complex tasks. It discusses the reconfiguration of traditional professions, the emergence of new occupations, and the effects of automation on employability, emphasizing changes in labor bonds and productive organization. The text also addresses the increasing demand for technical, cognitive, and socio-emotional skills, as well as the central role of professional reskilling and lifelong learning. In addition, it examines the social, economic, and educational inequalities intensified by automation, particularly regarding access to technological training and job opportunities. Finally, the study presents future perspectives based on cooperation between humans and machines, emphasizing the importance of educational policies, organizational strategies, and governmental actions that promote inclusion, adaptation, and human development in the face of technological change. It concludes that automation, when guided by ethical and social principles, can contribute to a more innovative, balanced, and sustainable labor market.
