Given the importance of the rural population in the labor market, this study analyzed the income behavior of rural workers in the state of Bahia during the year 2023, using data that were previously made available by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), through the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (PNAD continua). Aiming to make a comparison between genders, it also estimates the determinants of income for men and women separately, since there is a need for research due to the discrimination that exists in the Brazilian labor market. To this end, the methodology used, in addition to a literature review, consisted of performing regressions using the Ordinary Least Squares Method (OLS). The results found in the study showed that factors such as gender, age, education, and household conditions are essential for an individual's income and significantly influence the labor market in Bahia.
