Abstract

This paper presents a critical analysis of the contribution of multimedia resources to innovation in the teaching-learning process, with an emphasis on how these technologies impact interaction, engagement, and accessibility within the educational environment. The methodology adopted consisted of a bibliographic research, based on theoretical works and empirical studies that address the use of multimedia in education, including videos, digital simulations, podcasts, and other technological tools. The benefits associated with these resources are discussed, such as the increased flexibility in learning, especially in Adult Education (EJA) and distance learning contexts, as well as the advantages of integrating multimedia technologies into the classroom to make content more dynamic and accessible to students. In addition to highlighting positive impacts, the paper also addresses the main challenges for the effective implementation of these tools, such as the need for adequate technological infrastructure and the continuous training of teachers. The critical analysis suggests that, for multimedia resources to truly foster educational innovation, their use must be aligned with pedagogical approaches that consider cognitive development and promote inclusion. It is concluded that multimedia represents a promising tool for transforming education, provided it is integrated into strategies that support personalized learning and the construction of a more meaningful and inclusive educational experience.
